Activities and Café Opening Hours for Summer 2022

Every Day

Multi-Sports, Drop-In

Carvers Recreation Ground is a 6 acre open space. We have two football goals, a skate park and a table tennis table which are available to use all day, every day. Own equipment required although we have spare bats and balls available when the Clubhouse is open.

This summer, we will make available our tennis courts at the back of the recreation ground towards Ringwood School. These will be open Mondays, 9am-4pm, Tuesday to Friday, 9am-5pm, Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday 11am to 3pm. They will be free to use and one court will be set up as tennis and one for basketball/netball. Please note, courts will be available for one hour at a time when busy. To borrow equipment, please pop into the Clubhouse and leave your details.

We will also have a rounders pitch set up and you can borrow equipment to play as well as badminton.

Activity day – Battlefield Live | 11:ooam – 5:00pm

 3rd August

Battlefield Live is a digital combat experience, which uses infra-red guns so no projectiles or pain.  “Everyone’s Adventure”, who also operate from Moors Valley County Park, will set up a battle zone within Carvers Recreation Ground. They will run 6×45 minute sessions throughout the day, including 15 minute briefing, and two 15 minute games. There is no need to book and you can come with a friends to play together or on your own. Please note that your children will need an adult supervisor with them if they are not of an age to be at the park on their own. There will be other activities to enjoy as well including archery boards and catapult building.

Carvers Kayak Club | 6pm to 8pm

 26th July, 2nd, 9th, 16th, 24th** and 30th August

No, we haven’t gone mad and built a lake on Carvers! We have teamed up with Ethical Activities to offer the chance for some fun on the water this summer! We will be running 6 weekly evening sessions over the summer holidays, free of charge. Every session will take place at Spinnaker Sailing Club and last 1 and a half hours, led by a fully qualified paddlesport instructor.  Each week we will choose either kayaks, canoes or raft building (depending on group size and weather conditions).  Suitable for those aged 10-14.

Football with Ringwood Town FC | 11:30am to 12:30pm and 12:30pm to 1:30pm

 27th July, 3rd/ 10th and 17th August

With a focus on games rather than coaching, the first hour is for years 5 and 6 and the second hour is years 7 and 8. These are the year groups that they are moving into in September. Carvers Clubhouse is funding the sessions, a donation to help cover costs would be gratefully received. Parents/carers will need to complete a permission form for their child to take part which also acts as a booking form. In there, you can select whether an adult will collect child after the session OR, if your child is old enough, that they are able to leave on their own.

Crafty Kidz Stay and Play | 11:00am to 3.00pm

 28th July, 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th August

A free drop in event for families run by the Kings Church, Ringwood. Come along and make some lovely themed crafts together.

No need to book, just come along. Carvers Clubhouse and café will be open.

Ringwood Infant School- New Reception Starters Stay and Play | 10:00am to 11:30am

22nd July

Parents, carers and children who are starting Reception at Ringwood Infants School in 2022 are invited to a stay and play session. Some members of staff will be coming, along with representatives of FORIS (the Friends of Ringwood Infant School, PTA). There will also be an opportunity to buy some pre-loved school uniform. The sessions are a great way for the children to meet their new friends in a relaxed setting.

Mad4Animals | 11:30am-12:30pm

22nd July

Mad4Animals will be paying Carvers a visit with their fantastically fun animal show! Their sessions are all about getting children excited about the amazing animals they bring along as well as the ones around us. Its free to attend (although donations are welcome!)

Ringwood Skate Jam | 11:00am to 4.00pm

19th August

From 11am to noon, there will be an informal scooter coaching hour. The Jam will start at midday and will include demonstrations from pro-skate, scoot and bmx riders before moving on to skate, scoot and bmx competitions – split by age groups.

Saturday

Summer kickboxing with Trevor Soko | 11am to 12noon and noon to 1pm

24th/ 30th July and 13th/ 20th August

Trevor Soko from Fall Forward Youth Combat is bringing Muaythai , Kickboxing, Taekwondo , Hybrid- kickboxing , Mixed Martial Arts and boxing to Carvers this summer .With over 20 years experience in all these combat sports they are excited to bring these sessions as tasters for FREE with the hope that enough interest will be built up to run a club in the Winter. Please complete the parental permission and booking form to secure your place.

Sessions will be for girls and boys. 11am for 8-12 year olds and noon for 12-17 year olds.

Krazy Kev | 10:30am to 11:30am

3rd September 

Banish those end of holiday blues and send the children back to school with a smile on their face! Krazy Kev, the much loved children entertainer is coming to Carvers Clubhouse to bring guaranteed fun and laughter!  No charge (donations welcome) and no need to book. Fingers crossed for an outdoor show!
